Why servicing gets heavy
The loan is approved; the work has only started
Most of a loan's life is servicing, and that's where legacy systems hold lenders back.
01
New products wait on the core
A new rate type or repayment plan needs a change request on a system few people can touch.
02
Collection works from stale data
Collectors see yesterday's batch, not what the customer paid this morning.
03
Reconciliation by spreadsheet
Finance matches payments and GL entries by hand at month end.
What Abacus will do
Everything after the contract is signed
One servicing engine for the products Thai lenders actually run.
Disbursement
Pay out to the customer or dealer as soon as Papyrus returns the signed contract.
Schedules and interest
Flat and effective rates, step and balloon plans, configured per product.
Billing and payments
Bills, payment gateway and bank channels, matched to the right instalment automatically.
Collection
Reminders and collector queues driven by live balances and your own rules.
Restructuring
Reschedule, extend or settle early with the new schedule calculated for you.
GL posting
Accounting entries posted to your GL as each event happens, ready to reconcile.
How it works
One loan, from booking to closure
Abacus takes the loan from the signed contract and runs it until it's paid off.
Book and disburse
The approved loan and its terms arrive from LOS and Papyrus; funds go out.
Bill and collect
Each instalment is billed, collected and matched, with reminders before it's due.
Manage changes
Late payments, restructures and early settlement handled with the schedule recalculated.
Close and report
The loan closes, the GL is settled, and the full history stays in one record.
Buyer questions
How this is different
What teams weigh when deciding between Abacus and keeping servicing on the core.
Do we have to replace our core banking system?
No. Abacus can run servicing on its own, or the rest of the Thinker Suite can book loans into your existing core instead.
Why is Abacus not available yet?
It's being built as a next-generation LMS for 2027. Early partners can shape the roadmap now. [NEEDS CONFIRMATION]
Which products will it support first?
Hire purchase, personal loans and nano finance.
